Programme Structure

Leadership Development Programme began in 2001 and 30 outstanding undergraduate students have been selected every year to be especially nurtured to develop vision and the courage to bear the burden of becoming all kinds of future leaders.

After a comprehensive reform, "Leadership Development Programme" has been rebranded to "I.CARE Leadership Programme", with an increased intake of 50 students every year. The revised programme offers a new curriculum which emphasizes both cultivation of global perspective as well as social care through the academic enrichment and community involvement.

The programme is divided into three parts:

1) Formal courses: The two-year long programme bears a total of 12 credits of formal courses including discussion on humanities and philosophy, public policy analysis, globalization and Hong Kong community, leadership workshops.

2) One study tour abroad, to either London or Taiwan: to study a world city in the face of globalization and reflect on Hong Kong's social problems.

3) Non-formal activities: In collaboration with I.CARE Programme, the I.CARE Leadership Programme provides vast resources and opportunities for students to practise the leadership as well as carry out social services and civic engagement.  Students can also join mentoring and internship programs, publishing projects, exhibitions and seminars.

In addition, all participating leaders are guaranteed the opportunity to join a study exchange programmes overseas.
